Tragedy...

Life is so short.
Not long ago our church experienced the passing away of Elder Jong. Yesterday, exactly one month later, our church suffered another loss - Brother Chew
A short intro on Brother Chew:
He would have celebrated his 40th birthday on Saturday. He has (had) a wife and two children – a boy a girl. The son, who is the eldest, is only in Primary 2. Brother Chew and his wife are (were? I’m confused whether to use past or present tense) very active in church – they’re one of the couples the rest of us admire…both of them are Sunday school teachers and almost half of our Youth [population] have been their students once upon a time, so this kinda “hit” us harder than Elder Jong’s passing…
No one could have guessed he would leave us so suddenly.
Early yesterday morning, his wife found him in bed as usual. She only noticed something was wrong when she found she couldn’t wake him. It took a while to sink in - he had passed away in his sleep.
Doctors suspect he suffered from a silent heart attack. What’s so upsetting, apart from the suddenness of it all, is the fact that Brother Chew had no other symptoms. Apart from a little discomfort last year, nothing.
Nothing. Just out of the blue, one morning his wife couldn’t wake him up. Tragic and heartbreaking. Unbelievable. Just like that. You go to sleep and don’t wake up. Life is so short. We should cherish the time we have now....it could end any time...we have no idea whether or not we'll live to see tomorrow...This shock really put everything into perspective for me...

Our only comfort is that he WILL wake up. We all will. When we are done here, we WILL open our eyes again. One day we’ll all be reunited. We comfort ourselves with the fact that God loves us so much He would never let us perish. That is my firm belief.
I regret that I don’t have a photo of their family to show everyone what a beautiful family they were…I so wish I did….
